Today:
Alice In Wonderland
Thai Food!!
Friends, too much laughter and the TEN YEAR CARD GAME.
Yoga!
On the BART on the way home I saw two things that made me happy...the first was this woman who was wearing this magnificent hat to keep the rain off of her head:

Note my most excellent and subtle photo taking abilities.
The other was a father and son, when they stood to exit the train, the father reached over and put his arm around his son's shoulders, this made me think of the story Amma tells about the business man who never spends any time with his son. When its his son's birthday he asks the boy what he would like, and his son replies he would like to go to the circus together. When they are there, it starts snowing and the father realizes that his son must be cold. Putting his jacket around the boy, he wraps his arms around him, pulling him close for warmth. After the circus the boy comments that his favorite part of the show was when his father held him close.

An email from 2008
here is a prayer I came across on our retreat at the Mercy Center. I scribbled it down and it's been lying here waiting to be put somewhere, and that somewhere is here. It is by Thomas Merton, one of my favorite writers (a rarity, I know):
"My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the night road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore I will trust always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I fear not, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone."

Today was a good news type of day:
1. Figured out how to fix my car so my car no longer floods when it rains.
2. Weighed myself, I've lost 3 pounds!
3. My parents signed a contract to buy the house 2 doors down
4. Found Skinny Moo dippers at the discount store (does it really count as low calorie when you eat 3?)
Finals this week and next, pray for me!
